ubuntu wine

I have installed the free version in ubuntu ok. It appears to work. I cannot install the full version from the cd because wine cannot find the security dongle. Any suggestions? It would be nice to not have to reboot into windows to use swordfish. I am new to ubuntu and wine.

usb driver not found

Dear S'fish users, (regarding the CDC usb examples) I have made an example of the usb hardware from the diagram in the helpfile. I have loaded a 18f2550 with one of the code examples. When I connect it to my PC, briefly I am told it is ready to use, then seconds later "usb device unrecognised" appea...

useful comment

Thanks J.winters, found you comments helpful, firstly in that it is good to know you are not the only one. And secondly your comment about assembler. Most of my programming experience is based on a shaky knowledge of PIC assembler. One of the good things about Swordfish is the way you can use the na...

software pwm

I have a code snippet to share with anyone who is interested, it cycles a RBG led such as the "piranha" super flux RBG through the colours. It is a much simplified version of microchip app AN1074. The microchip data sheet explains how it works far better than I can. 'software pwm fades RGB led out o...

The Honeymoon is over

When I first discovered Sfish It seemed perfect. I was extremely impressed with the way the supplied examples ran first time with minimal alterations. Sfish can produce truly portable code, something none of the other "high level language" compilers, I tried, were able to do very well. I do like the...

ds18b20

Hi . . I have made no changes to the code apart from removing the degree sign and the letter C from the string of data that is sent to the serial port. The resistor is 4K7 . . my "experimenter board" is home made. The circuit is so simple though. I feel that it must be the DS18B20 that is at fault. ...

DQ

Dear S'fish Forum . . so I am replying to myself . .I do it all the time . . Regarding "DS18B20displaytemp.bas" from the samples folder in SwordfishSE, it just will not work for me, without briefly disconnecting the DQ line. It hangs on the find( ). Someone else in the forum had this problem they re...

DS18B20 reset

Hi, I have a DS18B20 connected to my "experimenter board" using a 18F4420 @20Mhz. I am using the "DS18B20DisplayTemp.bas" file from the samples folder. The only way I can get it to start is by disconnecting and reconnecting the 18B20. Until I do this all I get in the serial communicator is a blank s...
