Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry, That's right, I changed it to windows 7 mode and everything worked again fine. Ok about the other item, HIDExample, I saw that it was written in Delphi so didn't go much further, just hit the brain-overflow button and then Eject. I got a good example from Xamarin for saving up to a mobile ...

Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry, Your comments about Visual Studio completely match up to my experience. The reason I went down that path was to write a USB HID program for Windows on my PC. I little while back I posted a message on the "General" part of this Forum hoping somebody in your department could help me out with...

Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry,

A million thanks for your help. Yes, changing Compatibility Mode solved the problem.

For some reason it had got changed, so I set it back to my current OS. Now everything is working fine again.

Thank you so much for your help and suggestions.

Kindest regards,
SB

Re: Compiler/Assembler problem - eveything has stopped worki

Hi Jerry, I have just tested SF at another location which also has Visual Studio 2013 and Xamarin and Everything is working fine. MPASM is version 4.52 on the system that works, not sure at this minute which version is on the system that fails, will check later. Do you have anymore feedback on what ...

Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry, I shall try the compatibility mode as you suggested and report back later. I am now convinced that it is Visual Studio 2013 or Xamarin which has changed the system setup and killed MPASM. The question is how I fix this. Right now SF is far more important to me. If there are any other guru'...

Hi Jerry, The bits I wanted to send you are these. I shall post them directly in this script instead. First my program. Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry,

Another thing. I have recently been using Visual Studio 2013 to develop HID USB PC apps, and XAMARIN to develop mobile apps. Is there any possibility that the MPASM setup has got changed in any way by these IDE's ?

Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry, I have two list files I want you to look at. One of them is the empty program and the other is my program. These files are very short because I have taken out only the relevant bits. They both crash in MPASM at exactly the same place. I am sure you will be able to make something out of thi...

Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry, Yes, the Assembly List File option is checked. I tried posting the empty list file and got this message "The extension lst is not allowed". The only thing that has changed to my knowledge is the HID plugin. I have not updated anything else in SF. I am using Windows 7 OS. Updates are happen...

Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry,

This may, or there again may not, be a lead. The only thing I did in between everything working, and suddenly not working, was to download the SF HID plugin (which I had been thinking of doing for ages). I don't see how that can affect the Assembler, but one never knows.

Best regards,
SB.

Re: Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Hi Jerry,
Thank you so much for your fast reply.

Yes, I tried compiling an empty file and exactly the same thing happens.

Have you any ideas what's going on ?

Best regards,
SB.

Stupid Compiler problem - eveything has stopped working

Please SF Team, your help would be really appreciated. Today I compiled an SF program which has always been OK before. I got the following errors (3 lines): Overwriting previous address contents (0000) OK, to me that means the program has gone over limits, which it really should NOT have done. I alw...

HIDExample

Hi you great guys at SF, I can upload via USB from an 18F4550 project to a PC using your nice HIDExample Application. I now need desperately to send data collected from the PIC up to my PC and store it away for future handling. Is there any chance you can share the Source Code for HIDExample as it w...

Re: I2C or not I2C

Hello, First a mega sorry for implying there was anything wrong with Swordfish. That is not the case. I just made a big boob and would like to share the following information for others to see. I was migrating from PBP to Swordfish, and at the same time from a PIC16F to a PIC18F MCU. A message to al...
