I have successfully used the timer to do a number of pulsin like commands. It's really pretty easy. However, pulsin is also nice when you have the option . I would recommend taking a look at www.picbasic.org. Many of the users of SF cut their teeth on PDS.

Yikes...why would you use the um-fpu if you are already using SF? You can already do floating point math in the compiler. Please don't consider using that chip.

I had a similar problem before switching to 3.3V pics. I am interested in the schematic you used though if you don't mind sharing.

I recently saw a microchip development board that uses an sd bootloader with their fat16/fat32 file systems. Can't find the link at the moment though. This would be a handy feature and I currently have code space in my projects to handle room for this if it was available.

gramo, this is interesting. I am looking at some 10 Hz gps modules and I am not sure my software routines are currently fast enough to handle these modules. I will be looking at using the NMEA.bas file here shortly and will report back to you on how things go.

I have my gps logger up and running with the 18F26K20 now! Great stuff. I can now move to the smaller qfn package for a new iteration of this product.

RKP, I just wanted to let you know that I think your system file catch on the 18F26K20 has no allowed me to use this chip in my gps logger! I have tried the 26K20 in previous attempts with different silicon versions with difficulty. This latest silicon and your system code seems to have things worki...

My short answer is that this seems totally doable. 7-8 seconds is plenty of time to process the data you require.

Francis,

It looks like you are doing some sort of power monitoring. Can I ask what you are really doing for this project? I can't help with the code on this one, but wanted to learn more.
