If you are comparing it to an iPad, then you will be disappointed. However, as a base for developing front ends to embedded systems, it is a great platform. Try pricing just a 7 in. 800x480 TFT LCD with touch screen - I doubt you will find anything for less than $50. As I mentioned in my other post, factory cost for the tablet is as low as $42/unit. Like the OP, I am interested in the device for applications such as this (shown fullsize at 7in. diagonal).
