Hello Richard,
I've previously used in our products a BlueRadio BR C30A bluetooth module very successfully (albeit using a different basic compiler). I notice from their website that they have now updated their line to a C40 model which is an update to Bluetooth v2.0 over v1.2.
I think we were purchasing direct from Blueradio, which may or may not suit you.
An alternative i've also played with is the Roving Networks bluetooth line which also seems to be updated to v2.0. You can get these SMD or on a DIL breakout from sparkfun. (They also seem to be a lot cheaper for some reason?). I did not do any extensive testing with these so YMMV.
Both modules are similar though - Class 1 (100m), Internal or External antenna options, 3.3v supply & signaling and Serial AT command set. I can PM you some control code to get you started for C30/C30A (probably very similar to C40), in a basic language, but not SF.
Hope this is of some help,
Nathan
