Hi,
this is a true clone of the ICD2 debugger/programmer from Microchip.

You can not use it to program PIC from Swordfish IDE. SF IDE let you use any external programmer for which there is a software than can be launched with command line parameters. This is not the case for ICD2.
You can instead buy a PIC-KIT2

which cost less than 30 euro and has a command line utility (downloadable on the same page).
PS. Check the manual and full details of PICKit2 ... check if it supports all the PICs devices you are going to use.
