8 Pin 18F series chips?

Post by Gunplumber » Sat Apr 20, 2024 1:13 pm

Hi all
I recently had the need for a small PIC for a simple led flasher project (led lighting for RC aircraft). I did quite a bit of searching but I couldn’t find any 8 pin 18F series controllers at all?
I found plenty of 16F and a few 24F in 8 pin Packages but absolutely nothing in 18F.
Does anyone know if such devices exist?
I ended up using a 16F675 and hand coding some assembler to get the job done, but would have much rather used an 18F device and Swordfish..
cheers

As far as I know, there are no 8-pin 18F's.

The smallest I'm aware of are the 18F0xQ40/Q41 which come in 14-pin TSSOP/SOIC packages.
A 14-pin SOIC is about the same size as an 8-pin DIP package, give or take.

They're pretty capable little chips... a bit of just about everything.

Thanks for confirming that Jerry..
I’ll have to get a hold of a few 14 pin chips for this kind of thing..
